WALNUT WITH A TWIST
Even when a home is relatively new, sometimes a transformation is what is needed to create an inviting gathering spot for the entire family. This home had an ordinary cherry and black kitchen, which we replaced with contemporary walnut, moody blue lacquer, and oversized windows. The new look prioritizes storage, style, and connection – to each other and the outdoors.
The large space originally lacked an island, which often left the homeowner cooking alone in the kitchen. By reorienting the kitchen with a 12’ island equipped with both gas and electric cooktops, and a wine cooler, we created seating for the whole family. They can now all gather together in the new kitchen and enjoy the abundance of storage and prep space. Two contemporary light fixtures span the length of the island, creating dramatic impact from the moment you walk in.
With the new grand windows and expansive window seats in the dining area, along with the coordinating entertainment wall, the open floor plan has become the true hub of the home.
