FITTED FOR FIVE
The need to replace a broken microwave snowballs into a full-blown kitchen replacement for this busy and bustling family of parents and three teens. By realizing that nothing about the kitchen’s layout was working for them, this homeowner began to dream. Boring was banished, and everything changed. We moved one window to make two that flank this stunning range and hood while adding prep space for the chef. We shifted a doorway just a bit to make way for a command center and a beverage station. By reclaiming a redundant kitchen dining table, a gigantic island was created, now housing the sink which faces the island chairs. This central hub encourages cooking and homework, family fun and connection.
Every detail matters in this careful coordination of different elements of cabinetry, fixtures, and finishes that synthesize together to create this energetic, warm,yet bright, stunning heart of the home.
